开始解释题目的含义：
sonogram: An image, as of an unborn fetus or an internal body organ, produced by ultrasonography. 超声波扫描图由超声波扫描所产生的未出生的胎儿或某一体内器官的图像. 虽然能大体知道这一集要讲什么，可是，弄不明白的一点，这里end代表什么呢？有人能够给我解答一下吗？ 【场景】：Central Perk，大家在讨论kissMonica: What you guys don‘t understand is, for us, kissing is as important as any part of it. 翻译：你们男人都不明白的是，对于我们（女人）来说，接吻的每个步骤都很重要。 不知道这么翻译对不对，这里的it是代指kissing吗？any part of it，接吻的每一步骤？Rachel: Everything you need to know is in that first kiss. 起初不太明白为什么这里用的介词in（大家不要怪我咬文嚼字，既然是详细地记日记，我当然每个单词都要推敲了），难道是在kiss的过程中，一方的lips进入另一方的？（笑）后来想想，可能是in that first kiss thing之类的省略吧 Chandler: Yeah, I think for us, kissing is pretty much like an opening act, y‘know? I mean it‘s like the stand-up comedian you have to sit through before Pink Floyd comes out.opening act：开场、序幕。act有“戏剧的幕”的意思sit through：一直挺到结束，耐着性子看完（或听完）Pink Floyd：是当今最负盛名的“迷幻摇滚乐队” 翻译：是的，我认为对我们来说，接吻更像是开场，明白吗？我的意思是，就好比在Pink Floyd的出场前，你得耐着性子看完站立着的喜剧演员（的表演）。Chandler的比喻大家看明白了吗？就是说对于男性来说，接吻只是一个开头，他们更在乎的是直接进入“主题”，得到更精彩的部分。网上有些翻译为 “就像佛洛伊飞船出场前，你得耐著性子先看完脱口秀”，根据后来看的剧本，我觉得这样没有把Chandler真正想提到的大家都喜欢的乐队翻译出来，而且后来Rachel的台词中有"album"，所以我觉得还是自己的翻译好一些 Marsha: Well, she has issues.Marsha是Ross的同事。issues之前已经讲过了。在这里是烦恼、问题的意思。以后碰到别人好像闷闷不乐的时候，你就可以上前来上一句Do you have any issues? （这个转载于某个帖子） Monica: (taking a drink from Joey) Are you through with that?through：有“完成；完成之际；没有联系”的意思。 比如，（1）She was through with the project.她完成了这个项目 （2）I‘m through with him.我已经同他分手了Monica: Whose little ball of paper is this?!Chandler : Oh, uh, that would be mine. Probably right before she lost it!Chandler: You don‘t get a lot of ‘doy‘ these days...Rachel: I know I had it this morning, and I know I had it when I was in the kitchen with... 这里，doy的意思。一般来说，老美用duh表示stupidy（音比较像），有时用doy来代替duh，表示同样意思。Dinah是什么意思？我查找了一下，没有找到。有些翻译为“面条”。想请问这里的达人，知道的麻烦告知 【场景】Monica and Rachel‘s, Monica and Ross are pouring wine for their parents.Mrs. Geller: They all had a thing for him. 这里的him是指Ross。have a thing for sb.喜欢某人（窃喜，又学会了一种用法 ） 【场景】Monica让Ross帮忙做意大利面条(spaghetti)，他们的父母就对Monica说，做意大利面条很简单，（用不着帮忙）。因为 Ross从小在父母眼里是不会做错事的小孩(as far as their parents are concerned, Ross can do no wrong.)，而Monica则是一个独立的女生，而且早期的时候还很胖(chubby)，没有朋友，自己在房间看书和玩猜谜（puzzle），所以父母亲总是讽刺Monica，（这幕在这一集中的中间有讲到），于是Mon对Ross说Monica: I know this is going to sound unbelievably selfish, but, were you planning on bringing up the whole baby/lesbian thing? Because I think it might take some of the heat off me. 翻译：我知道这样要求过于自私。你能不能和他们说一下小孩/女同性恋之类的事？因为这样可以让我喘口气 【场景】Time Lapse, everyone is now eating.Mrs. Geller: What that Rachel did to her life.... Or, y‘know, uh, hey!, I‘ll go down there, and I‘ll give Barry back his ring, and you can go with Carol and Susan to the OB/GYN... 上次讲到steer clear of是“避开, 绕开，解脱”的意思 而这里，Ross这么用的言外之意是让Rachel好好驾驭这个词may wanna = may want to，这里的may表示请求，规劝；是对另一方委婉地提出建议Ross暗示Rach不要随便乱用“dumped”，因为他作为一个男人自尊可能会受伤害(break the shell of a man)terrific的本意是“令人恐慌的，糟糕的”，放在这里则有点让人迷糊了，难道Ross的意思应该是说“你不应该打扮的太光彩照人”，否则Barry看到了会更难受。可是直接翻译过来则是“你应该试着打扮得不要让人看起来很糟糕”。 关于这点，我在别的论坛上看到，“terrific”口语中多半用来表示赞赏,虽然它的本意是“令人恐慌的，糟糕的”。 Ross: (entering) Sorry I‘m late, I was stuck at work.
